Chocolate coffe truffles  with mascarpone

Miss Epiphany exists, she does, is among us and she doesn’t want to hear about retiring, I have the proof of it! She passed by the other night to leave small gifts in the sock, but alas…in exchange, she has taken away all the festivities!

But I really don’t want to get out of the Christmas mood. And then, I’ll stay a little more among my Noël cadeaux.

Because Santa Claus this year made me a great gift, really great. In the package, in fact, there wouldn’t have been a better bread for my teeth.

Maybe, just maybe will someone have blabbed him that I am a coffee addicted? It could be… but the fact is that under my Christmas tree I’ve found a wonderful surprise, Gaggia Carezza Deluxe.

My object of desire when I wake up in the morning, the aide of the afternoon coveted in those moments when I start to feel sleepy, the one that after a good meal can not miss to provide a coffee made in a workmanlike manner.

So, there I am at the end of the holidays with a sweet recipe flavored with coffee, simple delicacies that are a love at first sight, that help to recuperate the energy after a long day of after-holidays house-work and, above all, to spoil family and friends.

Chocolate and coffee mascarpone cheese truffles, stuffed with crunchy toasted hazelnuts,

a small dessert for a very sweet final (but also a new start of the year). ♥

Ingredients

250 gr of dark chocolate 65%
125 gr of mascarpone
2 cups of coffee
Roasted hazelnuts (just enough)
Cocoa powder (just enough)

Doses for 40 truffles

Cooking time 1o minutes

Preparation time 20 minutes

Resting time 2 – 3 hours

Chopped clumsily the chocolate and let melt it in bain-marie.

Take a pot, fill it up to a quarter of water and put above it a metal bowl. Transfer the chocolate in the bowl and melt it over low heat.

Once melted the chocolate, raised the bowl from the pan, pour the coffee, stir and let cool.

Then, add the mascarpone (for use at room temperature) and mix all well with a wooden spoon until the mixture is smooth and homogeneous.

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator to chill for 2-3 hours or until the mixture will be hardened.

After this time, with the aid of two teaspoons devide the mixture in small portions of about 10-12 gr each. Put in the center of each portion a small hazelnut and with wet hands give a round shape to the compound. Then, roll the pralines in cocoa in order to make this last one homogeneously adheres.

As you work them, place the truffles on a tray lined with a sheet of backing paper.

Once formed all the truffles, store them in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Procedimento

  1. Sminuzzate grossolanamente il cioccolato e fatelo sciogliere a bagnomaria.
